Come and sing days

We love hosting Come and Sing Days, when we are joined by guest singers to work together on a selected work. These are very popular, attracting around120 additional singers to join us for the day. Our award winning conductor Harry Bradford has previously taken us through many popular and interesting works including Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and St. John Passion, Handel’s Israel in Egypt, and Duruflé’s Requiem.
We had our first Come and Sing day in 2026 on 24th January with Mozart’s Mass in C Minor with a record attendance of guests.
Edward Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius 3rd October 2026
We are pleased to announce our second Come and Sing day in 2026, which will take place on 3rd October at Holy Trinity Sloane Square. We will be working on Edward Elgar’s magnificent work The Dream of Gerontius. Elgar himself considered The Dream of Gerontius his finest work. Come and explore it with our award-winning conductor Harry Bradford and members of the English Baroque Choir.
Save the date for now. Registration will open in due course.

Guest Feedback
“I really enjoyed the day. I enjoy the fact that it’s not just about singing a work but looking to perfect it as near as possible in the time. Harry is an excellent musical director with a good balance of high expectations delivered with humour.” (Christmas Oratorio Oct 2024)
“I particularly enjoyed the way Harry led us – I learned so much and he gave so many helpful tips. The pace he set was perfect – slowing down to check the notes and then off we went, flying through those runs. It was great to get through so much music in just a few hours.” (Christmas Oratorio Oct 2024)
“I particularly like that the EBC singers, and other guests, sing to a high standard compared to other come-and-sing events, and the number of tenors and basses is so impressive. It makes for a special music-making experience. Harry Bradford also gets the balance just right between musical accuracy versus enjoyment. Thanks so much to the Committee for all the hard work behind the scenes and I look forward to the next Come and Sing day.” (Christmas Oratorio Oct 2024)
“Thank you for a wonderful Singing Day yesterday, with special gratitude to Harry Bradford for his excellent conducting/leading.” (Duruflé Requiem Feb 2024)
“Thank you for an excellent workshop yesterday. The Duruflé is a wonderful work and it was a great pleasure to re-acquaint ourselves with it. We thoroughly enjoyed the event. We were very impressed by your conductor; he had a very good approach and clearly knows the requiem inside out! It was a pleasure to sing with him. Your accompanist too was superb, an excellent team. And the whole day seemed to go very smoothly.” (Duruflé Requiem Feb 2024)
“Just a note to say how much I enjoyed the singing day. Harry is a great MD: so knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining. You’re very lucky to have him!” (Duruflé Requiem Feb 2024)
